The Neotropical antlion genus Ameromyia Banks, 1913 (Neuroptera: Myrmeleontidae), systematics and redefinition under a phylogenetic approach

A taxonomic revision and the first phylogenetic hypothesis of Neotropical genus Ameromyia Banks (Myrmeleontidae: Brachynemurini) is herein presented. The phylogeny based on 45 morphological characters recovered traditional as paraphyletic in respect to monotypic Venezueleon Stange, which here synonymized under . Three species are ( A. hirsuta Navás stevensi nigriventris (Walker), pentheri strigosa (Banks)) two new described clepsydra sp. nov. explicata ). sensu novo a valid with 12 restricted South America, divided into groups. Taxonomic keys also presented adults larvae, well discussion biology.
